“Ice Flow” revolves around the ideas of large forces of subterranean movement, not always easy to discern from the surface; of monolithic masses which are somehow alive. It is also a piece which contains an omnipresent tactility – as part of an ongoing search for a way to incorporate the body of the performer as an integral part of the sound experience. Voice and breath are an inseparable part of the sound in its perceived wholeness – both in its excitation and physical characteristics and in its emotional connotations.
