Ahl al-kitab (أهل الكتاب) translates to “people of the book,” a phrase used in the Quran to refer to Christianity and Judaism, the other main Abrahamic faiths. The Quran acknowledges their unity of deity and prophets and grants them special privileges not afforded to others. This piece exists to celebrate the similarities between these faith traditions and join three of their musical traditions, built on intertwining spiritual ideas and realized in intertwining musical ideas.

Close your eyes and let the music bring you closer to the Divine.
