Crimée No. 7 [Excerpt]

Crimée No. 7, the first album from kmodp, is akin to a postcard from a distant past, blending intricate percussive patterns and expansive piano textures into artifacts meant to invoke a nostalgia for an out-of-reach era, an industrial past outside of the pervasive digital culture of our time.

This excerpt contains tracks 2 through 4. The audio of Electric Telegraphy is a palindrome, created by layering a track over its time-reversed counterpart. Crimée No. 7a was created from spliced attacks and resonances of a short passage played on piano. In Crimée No. 7b, samples of voice and a metro station layer over constantly-fluctuating rhythms.
