TFW you think about your feed

This piece incorporates several quotes from content that appeared in my feeds. Reels of varying quality create a hypnotic effect that momentarily distracts from the struggles and anxieties of daily life. However, within these distractions, more pressing issues slip through, undermining the very purpose of these platforms to disengage the mind. This creates a jarring, almost grotesque contrast. YouTube ads abruptly interrupt contemporary compositions with a jingle because there was a moment of silence. Viral TikTok reels are recycled and then suddenly cut off before the punchline, only to be replaced by desperate appeals for funds to escape the horrors of Gaza. Something unsettling and difficult to articulate in words that I’ve attempted to convey through this composition.
