The agent examines a choreographic exploration of an acoustically evolving space as well as an embodied expansion of the flute’s timbre. Electroacoustic sounds are projected through wearable speakers and randomly produced in real time, while the flute part interacts with these aleatory sounds creating an iterative dialog. The wearable speakers were built specially for this piece and are named Sonic Wings. They offer unique aural experiences for audiences as they are transported across the space while enabling an acoustic expansion of the performer’s body that suggests connections with poetic forms of hybrid bodily presence such as cyborgs and animal-human ontologies.
