To what extent can a sound be spatially audibly delineated from its surroundings or even possess a contour perceptible to the ear? The principle of reversing figures, familiar from visual perception, is presented in the piece is here an auditory experience. By permanently swapping the foreground and background sounds, the audience’s attention is drawn to the potential borderline between these two sound events.
