José Henrique Padovani is a Brazilian/Italian composer and professor.He holds a PhD in Music from the State University of Campinas and is currently an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in composition, computer music and sound studies/sonic arts.
Padovani's music has been performed internationally by renowned ensembles such as the Arditti Quartet and the Minas Gerais Philharmonic Orchestra. He has received awards, including the Camargo Guarnieri Composition Competition, Concours International de Composition pour un instrument acoustique et dispositif électronique (Bourges) and the European Competition for Musical Projects with Live-Electronics.
His research/artistic interests include interactive music, machine listening, artificial intelligence, multimodal/audiovisual composition, algorithmic/generative music, computer-aided composition, collaborative music creation, and practice-based music research.
