Pablo Mena Escudero is a Spanish percussionist based in Basel, passionate about new music and the sonic possibilities of innovative instruments. He studied at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón (2015-2020), earning a master’s in contemporary music, which granted him the FUGA scholarship and a collaboration with Michael Maierhof. He has performed at festivals like Darmstadt and Mizmorim and with ensembles such as the Basel Symphony Orchestra and Camerata Variabile. He has worked with composers like Lachenmann, Svoboda, and Saunders. He is currently pursuing a master’s in performance at the Basel Music Academy with Christian Dierstein and in improvisation with Andrea Neumann, exploring new timbres and instruments.
