Ombeline Gasnier started playing the cello at the age of 6. Very quickly, she joined the CRR of Nice (France), where she acquired the basics of a very complete training (cello, piano, musical training, harmony, introduction of early music ...). There she obtained her DEM in cello, her DEM in musical training, but also her CEM in piano.
After obtaining her diplomas, she entered Xavier Gagnepain's class at the CRR of Boulogne-Billancourt (France). Strengthened by this teaching, she then joined the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in the class of Marie Hallynck, where she obtained her bachelor's degree with great distinction.
Above all, she enjoys playing with others, which explains her great interest in chamber music and in orchestra. She had the chance to be part of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra twice, as part of the Aix-en-Provence festival. She is a reserve member of European Youth Orchestra in 2023 and 2024. Since 2019, she has been a permanent member of the Young Belgian Strings (string orchestra made up of Belgian students), placed under the patronage of Queen Mathilde. Within this group, she was able to perform throughout Belgium in big concert rooms like BOZAR, and recently also in Venice. She is also part of the Musiq3 festival orchestra, where she performed live on the radio. She has accompanied great soloists such as Sylvia and Stéphanie Huang, Lorenzo Gatto, and Hayoung Choi (winner of the 2022 Queen Elisabeth competition).
Throughout her path, she was able to receive advice from great musicians, such as Ophélie Gaillard, Anssi Karttunen, Joel Dieltens and Yegor Diachkov.
She plays on a modern instrument from 2022, made by Bärbel Bellinghausen (Vienna, Austria).
