Maria Vittoria Agresti, born in 1996 in Caserta, Italy, is an Italian composer whose main focus is on the exploration and study of timbre as a vehicle for the perception of sound.
Began her piano studies at a very young age, she graduated at the Conservatory of Avellino with highest honours in composition (Maria Pia Sepe) and piano (Sergio Di Gennaro).
Then she completed postgraduate studies in composition at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia under the guidance of Ivan Fedele.
During her time at the Academy she also attended the electronic music course with Michelangelo Lupone.
Her works have received several awards and distinctions and she has collaborated with prominent composers and artists such as F. Filidei, C. Czernowin, F. Verunelli, M. Stroppa, M. Momi, N. Vassena, L. Ronchetti, J.M. Sánchez-Verdú, G. Cresta, A. Solbiati, G. Battistelli and others.
Her music has been performed in Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Portugal by renowned ensembles and orchestras such as the Names Ensemble, AchRome Ensemble, RePercussion Trio, Concrete [Lab] Ensemble, Syntax Ensemble, NEMA Ensemble, G.G. Arrigoni strings Orchestra, Ensemble Dissonanzen, D'Este Symphonic Orchestra and by important soloist like F. D'Orazio, A. D'Errico, M. Boselli, E. Marchesini and others.
Currently at the "Accademia di Belle Arti" in Naples, doing a PhD in "Innovation, Technologies and New Materials for Art".
