Born in Rome in 1987, Michele Bernabei starts studying piano and electric bass at the age of 6, switching to trumpet at the age of 16.
After obtaining the professional diploma in Jazz Trumpet at the Saint Louis College of Music, he moves to Genoa, where he studies under Maestro Giampaolo Casati. He enrolls in the N. Paganini Conservatory under the guidance of Maestro Pietro Leveratto, where he obtains the Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies.
In 2010 he enrolls in Turin’s G. Verdi Conservatory under Maestro Furio Di Castri, obtaining the Master’s Degree in Jazz Composition and Arrangement with a score of 110/110.
In 2018, under Maestro Fabrizio Dorsi, he obtains the ABSRM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) Diploma in String Orchestra Direction.
In 2018-2019 he enters Fiesole’s Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale, where he attends the yearly Composition course under Maestro Fabio Vacchi. And in 2020 he has been selected for the masterclass IDEA by Divertimento Ensemble with Stefano Gervasoni Liza Lim and Tristan Murail.
Currently he is studying Classical Composition at the Milan Conservatory with Gabriele Manca.
