Classical composer and multi-instrumentalist, Federico Pianciola begins studying oboe and composition at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory of Torino during middle school. After dropping out
to get a degree in Cinema Engineering at the Politecnico of Torino, he resumes the study of composition in the Conservatory of Torino with the teachers Paolo Tonini Bossi and Aldo Sardo, getting then a Bachelor's Degree in 2021 and starting the superior course with the
composer and teacher Giorgio Colombo Taccani.
In the meantime he studies jazz guitar with Gabriele Ferian, works as a live FOH engineer with the Turin-based cellist Lamberto Curtoni, participates in various underground Turin ensembles and
bands, composes music for films and commercials, participates as an author and producer on the sync platform Sounzone and regularly works as a audio engineer at the Mandala Studio in
Turin.
In 2020 he wins the "Cortili ad Arte" competition of the Contrada Torino Foundation with Associazione ZuEnde MVMNT audio-visual project and the Radio Papesse / Lucia Festival (in
collaboration with the Fondazione Archivio Diaristico Nazionale) Premio Lucia audio production award together with Luca Morino and Riccardo Salvini (under the name Viso Collettivo). In 2021 he participated as a student at the Darmstadt Ferienkurse, following the classes of Brian Ferneyhough, Hans Thomalla, Lars Petter Hagen and Sebastian Berweck. In 2022 Viso Collettivo, together with Compagnia GenoveseBeltramo, works on the awarded
radio drama in order to transform it in a theatre piece, Un estremo atto d'amore, which opens Turin's Cinema Teatro Maffei annual theatre season.
In 2022 he founded (together with Italian harpist Vanja Contu) Ensemble Bruitisme, a collective devoted to non idiomatic improvisation.
