Born in Japan in 1992, Takuma Saito entered Sophia University (Tokyo, Japan) in 2011, where he studied French and the different currents of French philosophy. At the same time, he studied musical writing with Eri Kozaki and composition with Ryo Daïnobu in private lessons. After finishing his university studies, he entered the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional (CRR) in Paris where he studied instrumental composition with Edith Canat de Chizy and acousmatic composition with Régis Renouard-Larivière. In 2017, he obtained, unanimously, his Unity of Value in instrumental composition. He continued his studies at the CRR of Boulogne-Billancourt in the classes of Jean-Luc Hervé (instrumental composition) and Yan Maresz (electroacoustic composition) and graduated in 2019. The same year, he was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) where he continued his studies in the instrumental composition class of Professor Frédéric Durieux and computer music class with Professors Yan Maresz, Luis Naón, & Grégoire Lorieux. In 2022, he completed his bachelor of composition with the best mention and is currently enrolled in the master's degree.
He received the 3rd prize in the Third International Composer Competition "New Music Generation 2021" in the chamber music category for 28 to 35 year old in 2021.
His works are peformed by diverse musical ensembles: Ensemble Intercontemporain, Les Métaboles, Tana Quartet, Orchestra of Picardie, Orchestra of the Conservatory of Paris under the direction of Guillaume Bourgogne.
In 2020, he awarded a scholarship from the Kakehashi Foundation and in 2021, supported by the Meyer Foundation. In 2022, he receives a scholarship from the Centre International Nadia and Lili Boulanger.
