Launch of the ULYSSES Platform project

The ULYSSES Network project (2012-2016; 2016-2020; 2020-2024) is re-launching under a new format: the ULYSSES Platform. Coordinated by the Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music (IRCAM), the new Platform aims to accelerate the visibility and professional competence of emerging European contemporary music artists throughout Europe. Emerging artists and ensembles are placed in highly diverse international professional contexts, in contact with world class artists and artistic directors across Europe and beyond. Selected via open call and curatorial consultation, they are given the chance to showcase their talents, develop their artistic skills, and network in the context of a wide variety of highly professional world-class venues and events respectful of the environment. To further support their careers, the ULYSSES Platform provides learning around a variety of extra-musical skills and sustainable practices that are essential to advance in a highly competitive and fragile socio-economic and cultural context.

Specific actions in the project include performance opportunities, commissions, residencies, workshops, networking and the development of online tools for promotion and career building. These actions aim to boost the professional growth of young composers, instrumentalists, sound designers, vocalists and conductors throughout Europe, bringing them the skills, support, connections and visibility needed to establish a lasting career in contemporary music.

The ULYSSES Platform currently unites the following members:

IRCAM (FR)
Divertimento Ensemble (IT)
