The composition course is jointly taught by Lorenzo Pagliei and Maurizio Azzan and is structured into two periods of lessons: a preliminary online phase (May-July: four individual lessons and two seminars) and on-site lessons in San Marino (2nd-8th August: daily individual lessons and six seminars). Students will have the opportunity to compose a piece for one to three instruments: flute, clarinet, and piano, with the option of adding an electroacoustic device (consisting of audio exciters) to the piano. Students must begin working on their piece during the preliminary phase and finalize it during the in-person session in San Marino, where they will collaborate with the composition faculty and resident musicians of the New Music Project before the final concert. The musicians in residence are Laura Faoro (flutes), Marco Ignoti (clarinets) and Anna D'Errico (piano).
