We are delighted to announce an 12-month long composition mentorship program led by David Moliner, renowned composer and international percussion soloist. It is meant to address advanced student composers as well as emerging composers who want to work actively on the percussion world to enhance their technical skills. As a final part of the learning process, the composers will write a work that David Moliner will premiere at the Philharmonie Berlin in 26-2027 season. The objective of this mentorship program is to study the notation processes of multi percussion with the desire to launch prospective composers creating solid percussion repertoire pieces. Specifically, as a final part of the program, mentored composers will create a piece of possible instrumentation: bongos, 2 tom toms, bass tom, temple blocks and (or) marimba. The source of inspiration will be the J.S.Bach Suite 4 BWV 1010, which David Moliner has transcribe into marimba, as well as Iannis Xenakis Rebonds, both pieces will be also played in the concert. After the premiere (regular season), as well as in masterclasses that David Moliner will give at Hochschule Hans Eisler Berlin, Hochschule für Musik München, Hochschule für Musik Luzern and Hochschule der Künste Zurich. All these works will be published by Universal Edition, becoming part of the catalogue of the Viennese publishing house.

The works will be professionally recorded on CD David Moliner (record company to be determined) and the composers will have their pieces recorded on platforms such as iTunes and Spotify. A video report will be made of these composers, launching them and publishing it on YouTube channels, as well as to promote the CD with their works.

All the composers will be tutored by David Moliner in monthly individual-collective online meetings. One collective meeting will take place at the Musikverein offices. This encounter will offer plenty of opportunities for professional networking and establishing meaningful international and professional friendships. The selected composers will also have the opportunity to publish the works in Universal Edition.
