The 8th Festival of Creation and Contemporary Music, “KlexosLab,” will take place in Plasencia (Cáceres, Spain) from July 21 to 27, 2025. As part of the festival, a composition workshop will be held, where active participants will work alongside the ensembles to develop their creative potential. The process will culminate in the performance of their works in one of the festival's concerts.

COMPOSITION WORKSHOP

During the festival, a composition workshop will be held. Participants will work on pieces or movements for one of the following ensembles:

• Klexos (4 saxophones + multimedia artist/performer)
• Pulso Ensemble (saxophone, piano, violin)
• Spółdzielnia Muzyczna Contemporary Ensemble (violin, viola, cello, and clarinet [bass clarinet possible])

Active participants will compose up to 6 minutes of music, which will premiere at the festival concert on July 25 at 8:00 PM in the Auditorio San Francisco in Plasencia.

Application fee for selection: FREE
Registration fee active student: 300€

Students wishing to apply for the workshop can find information and submit their application on the website www.klexoslab.es, where they must provide the following documents for evaluation:

• A brief curriculum vitae
• A fragment, sketch, and/or description of the compositional idea to be developed in the workshop (including instrumentation, technical/material requirements, and estimated duration)
• A recording and/or score of a previous work

Once the list of admitted participants is published, they must confirm their attendance and complete the registration fee payment to the bank account provided by the organization.

1st phase (June - online)
- Presentation and brainstorming session
- Handing out of scores



2nd phase (face-to-face)
- Reading sessions with ensembles (a minimum of 2 reading sessions of 45 minutes)
- Work on the pieces for their premiere
- Group classes/mentoring with Jessie Marino and Pedro González
- Free participation in the workshops with the ensembles invited to the festival.

Listening student registration fee: 50€
- Free attendance to classes and activities
- Free participation in the workshops with the ensembles invited to the festival
