Vox Novus is calling for one-minute pieces composed for solo flute. Selected works will be premiered on Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame with flutist Lisa Bost-Sandberg in 2025 with an online performance.
Only works one-minute in length for flute will be considered. Deadline for works is December 31, 2024
Bost-Sandberg performs on a Kingma System® flute. This revolutionary instrument can be played as a traditional C flute, but it also includes extra keys, expanding the sonic capabilities. It allows for a more facile and even quartertone scale, a considerably increased multiphonic vocabulary, and extensive options for alternate fingerings. Composers are welcome to embrace these possibilities in their submissions if desired; traditional writing for the flute is also possible and encouraged.
Guidelines:
Works are for flute solo only no electronics.
Works should be composed specifically for this call and performer.
All pieces must be premieres and not previously written or published.
No works over a minute will be reviewed.
Multiple submissions are not accepted. Send your best work!

You will need to register with Music Avatar for free to submit your work online.
After logging in to Music Avatar, select the opportunity named "Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame with for Lisa Bost-Sandberg " and press the "submit" button to start the submission process.
You will need to provide a maximum 100 word biography and 100 word program notes.

Must include the dedication to Lisa Bost-Sandberg on the score.
Performance notes should be included in the score.
