After the positive feedback from the first edition, Empirica, in collaboration with MID SIDE Aps, promotes
the second edition of this CALL FOR WORKS. Acousmatic compositions, audiovisual works, compositions
for solo instrument and compositions for solo instrument and electronic are selected, in view of the
second edition of REF - Resilience Festival 2022, of publication of the second collection FIXED.wav and
FIXED.mov, and of the first collection LIVE.wav.
The call is open to composers of any nationality, with no restrictions whatsoever. It is possible to
participate individually or in groups; multiple works can be submitted by the same artist/group of artists.
MID SIDE Aps, Social Advancement Association aims to promote and encourage contemporary art in all of
its forms. With this project it intends to support and promote composers and multimedia artists allowing
both the public performance and online distribution of their works.
CATEGORIES
[A] Acousmatic - original stereophonic acousmatic compositions. Compositions should not exceed 10
minutes in length.
[B] Audio/Visual – original audio/video productions. Compositions should not exceed 20 minutes in
length.
[C] Solo Instrument - compositions for solo instrument. will be accepted. A recording/simulation, even
partial, is welcome, but not obligatory. Available instruments: flute, viola, alto sax (also soprano sax),
double bass. Compositions should not exceed 10 minutes in length.
[D] Solo Instrument and electronics - compositions for solo instrument and electronics. The electronics
can be live or fixed. Follow the instructions in “HOW TO PARTICIPATE”. Available instruments: flute, viola,
alto sax (also soprano sax), double bass. Compositions should not exceed 10 minutes in length.

The participation fee is a donation to Mid Side Aps to support the costs of the project.
There are no forms of expense reimbursement for selected artists.
