Calling All Composers: Submit Your Scores and Proposals for the 2026 Azrieli Music Prizes!
Elevate your work to the global stage with the Azrieli Music Prizes (AMP), one of the most prestigious composition awards in the world. Created in 2014 by Sharon Azrieli CQ, AMP offers the largest composition prize package in Canada. Whether you are an emerging or established composer, this is a rare opportunity to have your music performed, recorded, and recognized on an international scale.
For its sixth edition, AMP is seeking scores and proposals for choir and orchestra with optional soloists. The competition awards four prizes: three commissions for original works responding to a specific theme and one prize for an outstanding previously written composition that deserves greater recognition. The categories are: The Azrieli Commission for International Music, The Azrieli Commission for Canadian Music, The Azrieli Commission for Jewish Music, and The Azrieli Prize for Jewish Music.
The Call for Submissions is open until 2 May 2025. Composers selected to become an AMP Laureate will receive a prize package valued at over $200,000 CAD, including a cash award of $50,000 CAD; a premiere of their prize-winning work at a gala concert in Montreal in the 2026-27 season, which will also be livestreamed globally; at least two subsequent international performances; and a commercial recording release.
AMP welcomes applications from composers of all ages, genders, nationalities, faiths, and backgrounds. There is no application fee.
