Gabriele Mastrototaro was born in Bari, Italy in March 2003. Graduated in Italy with full marks in October 2022, now he's attending the Hochschule für Musik HMDK in Stuttgart with the professor Davide Formisano. He played in Italian and German orchestras such as LaFil Orchestra in Milan, Deutsche Orchester Berlin, Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester Pforzheim, Badische Staatstheater Karlsruhe, and in contemporary music ensembles like Studio MusikFabrik in Cologne, Reactive Ensemble in Stuttgart, Parco della Musica Ensemble in Rome, Six Memos Ensemble in Bari.

As soloist he had opportunities to play masterpieces by J.S.Bach, P.Taffanel and F.Busoni with orchestras like Cappella Tubingen Orchestra, Apulian Philarmonic Orchestra and Umberto Giordano Symphony Orchestra.

Captivated by contemporary repertoire, he played many world première solo pieces by composers like Davide Wang and Damiano Mainenti (UrtiCanti Festival, Bari), Bengisu Önder (Conservatoire de Paris). During european orchestra tour he played in concerthall like the Philarmonie de Paris, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, Auditorium Manzoni in Bologna, Teatro Piccolo in Milan and Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari. In December 2021 he won the Angelo Persichilli Flute Competition in Rome and in February 2023 he was the 2nd Prize winner at the Liverpool International Flute Competition.
