Pharaoh and Sand

This composition is a sonic and textural work designed for string quartet. It uses fragile & breakable string textures contrasting broken, weighted and distorted sounds.

This piece represents an imaginary broken and forgotten Pharoahs tomb that is hidden deep under the sand. Time passes slowly and silently in the disintegrating structure. Over the eons grains of sand seep into the Pharoahs abode filling it with fractional moments of movement amidst the haunted & lonely atmosphere.

The unstable high pitched sonorities represent the fragility and harshness of single sand particles.
