Chilean composer born in Coyhaique in 1985. His music has been premiered in festivals and concerts in more than 12 countries by different ensembles and orchestras, such as Ensemble Línea (France), Plural Ensemble (Spain), Spektral Quartet (USA), Violet Collective (Canada), José Luis Urquieta (Chile), Dal Niente (USA), Chamber Orchestra of Chile and Ensemble Masmenos (Argentina) among others. As a professor, he has taught at various institutions, such as the Modern School of Music, Adolfo Ibáñez University and Northwestern University. He has participated in seminars of composition, conducting and musicology with: Ramón Lazkano, Pierluigi Billone, Steve Reich, Fabián Panisello, Enno Poppe, Esa Pekka Salonen, Rubén López Cano, Martin Matalón, Luis Naón, Marco Stroppa, Javier Alvarez and Leo Brouwer among others. Arellano received his doctorate at Northwestern University under the guidance of Hans Thomalla and Jay Alan Yim and currently serves as a faculty member at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. He is a PhD candidate in Philosophy at Universidad de los Andes, Chile.
