Leonardo Benazzi is one of the most outstanding Italian conductors. He was born in Parma, Italy. He has conducted some of the most prestigious Italian and international musical institutions, including: Teatro Comunale di Bologna (TCBO), Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, the Russian National Orchestra (RNO), Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Maribor Philharmonic among others. He worked in venues such as Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Regio di Parma, Teatro San Carlo, TCBO, Rossini Opera Festival (ROF), Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Fondazione Petruzzelli, Royal Opera House London, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Haydn Orchestra Bozen. He was the sole winner of "Paolo Vero" award for young conductors in 2015. During his career, Leonardo worked with internationally renowned conductors, composers and singers, including Riccardo Muti, Michele Mariotti, Roberto Abbado, Ezio Bosso, Sir Simon Rattle, Colin Davis, Semyon Bychkov, Christoph Von Donahyl, Mark Elder, Trevor Pinnock, Vladimir Jurowski, Edward Gardner, Marin Alsop, Yan-Pascal Tortelier, Robin Ticciati, Martyn Brabbins, David Zinman, Philippe Auguin, Giovanni Sollima, Michele Pertusi, Luca Salsi, Francesco Meli. He graduated in orchestral conducting within the "postgraduate conducting programme" at the Royal Academy of Music, London (MA) under the guidance of Colin Metters and Sian Edwards. After completing his classical musical studies at the "Arrigo Boito" Conservatory in Parma, Leonardo was a member of the "Luigi Cherubini" youth symphony orchestra from 2006 to 2010, founded and conducted by Riccardo Muti. Equally active either on symphonic and operatic repertoire, M°Benazzi is an unstrenuous ambassador of Giuseppe Verdi in the World. His work is very appreciated also in the USA, where he leads programmes trying to preserve the original Verdi's message from stereothypes among prestigiuos Institutions.
