Matthew Bardin, originally a native of Central Florida, is currently based in Boston, and has written music for large ensembles, chamber groups, voice, solo instruments, and electronics. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Stetson University, and is currently working toward completing his Master of Music degree at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. He is currently affiliated with the American Society of Composer, Authors, and Publishers. As a student, Matthew has placed in Stetson University's annual composition contest with his works No More, and 2:1. His works are often performed by several student soloists and groups throughout the academic year. He also has presented on his music at the annual Central Florida Composer’s Symposium and will be serving as an auditor at the 2018 Manifeste festival in Paris, France. Matthew has studied with Drs. Manuel de Murga, Sydney Hodkinson, and Eun Young Lee. Recently, Matthew has completed the work Selections from ...the paper, which received its premiere in April 2018. Matthew is currently working on Harmon(A) for microtonal piano (synth), and a medium-length work for string quartet with clarinet. Also a bass clarinetist, Matthew enjoys working with the instrument family and features its members in several compositions. He also enjoys incorporating live electronic components into his music, exploring changing timbres gradually over time, and creating different atmospheres with the use of various instrumentation, performance techniques, and electronic effects. For music creation Matthew uses Finale v25, Sibelius Ultimate, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live 9 Suite, Max 7, Pro Tools 12, and Amadeus Pro on a Macbook Pro and Mac Mini. When performing he uses a Leblanc Sonata Bb Clarinet. His preferred model of Bass Clarinet is a Buffet-Crampon Prestige 1193.
